NorthStar Church Network, in partnership with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), is excited to lead the battle against world hunger through a three-day packing event on May 13, 14 & 15, 2016, at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Virginia. The tangible goal of this community-wide event is packing and providing 5 million meals to feed nearly 14,000 hungry children around the world for a year. 

 

The ask is simple- volunteer for a packing session during the three-day packing event on May 13, 14 & 15. Of course, we would love for you to help us spread the word (click here) and consider making a donation (click here) or becoming a sponsor (click here) as well!  

 

The approach is simple: Children (as young as five) up through adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, and then the meals are shipped to food distribution partners around the world each year—more than 70 in FMSC’s history.  All sorts of affinity groups are involved in this awesome process—scout groups, businesses, religious organizations, sports teams, schools, etc. The event promises to be energetic, fun, and informative. Volunteers sign up for a 2 1/2 hour session, and in groups of 20 people, they fill and seal bags at work stations. The meals are then provided free to clinics, schools, orphanages, and refugee programs around the world. A stable food supply enables these partner agencies to save lives, while working with local communities to become self-sufficient.
